This is a unique opportunity for a registered learning disability nurse to join our Practice Development Team. The post holder will apply the nursing process to sustain and improve health and quality of life for the people that we support. You will identify and communicate opportunities for organisational change.
Education and Knowledge:
Nursing qualification
RNLD or RNMH registered with NMC
Committed to supporting student nurses on practice placement
Knowledge of the health needs of people with learning disabilities
Knowledge of Care Inspectorate, National Care Standards and SSSC structures and workings
Understanding of national legislation and policy
Knowledge of providing person-centred care to vulnerable people including people with learning disabilities and their families.
Skills and Attributes:
Ability to prioritise and manage a complex workload
Ability to implement change with teams
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with people we support, colleagues at all levels of the organisation and partners in health and social care
Strong knowledge of nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care
Skills in data gathering and analysis
A strong belief in the inclusion of people with disabilities in the community
Effective and adaptive communicator
Experience in presenting information to groups of people
Full Driving License and access to own vehicle
